TIA GROUP Sponsor Tourmaline at the Lubumbashi’s Golf Open, october 04, 05 et 06, 2019.

The international competition took place on the magnificent course of the Lubumbashi Golf Club, according to the Stabelford calculation method.

Among the 150 registered golfers, several international golfers participated in this competition. In the top category of professionals, Zambian golfer Dayne Moore from Ndola won. The second is South African Makhetha Mazibuko from Bloemfontein Golf Club. Aaron Simfukwe, another Zambian, takes third place.

What is the Stableford method?

This world-famous method of calculation was invented in 1898 by Dr. Franck Stabelford. This system is designed to eliminate extremes, and therefore not to penalize a beginner who would miss a shot. The goal is to convert the score obtained on each hole into points by comparing it to the theoretical “par” of the hole. The calculation is in GROSS, that is to say without taking into account the handicap of the player, or in NET, and in this case the handicap is taken into account.
